About The Position

This position is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of Tyson vehicles and equipment, ensuring team member safety, vehicle safety, and the timely return of vehicles to customers. Key duties include managing parts ordering and inventory, supervising team members by prioritizing work assignments, and maintaining up-to-date driver records such as attendance, vacation, and scheduling regular physicals. The role also ensures all equipment complies with DOT and OSHA regulations, conducts fleet safety meetings, and coordinates fuel and tire purchases. Additional responsibilities include purchasing material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, trailers), managing daily shop operations, and performing other duties as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 6 years of progressive leadership experience in a related field.
  • Demonstrated strong supervisory skills, operational expertise, and ability to drive team performance and continuous improvement.
  • Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and other standard computer applications.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Responsible for supervising a team within a single department or work unit performing similar or interrelated tasks.
  • Occasional travel required (1 to 5 trips per year).
  • Monday through Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, but flexible for Shop supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Vocational or technical school training resulting in an Associate’s degree or equivalent, preferably in diesel or auto mechanics, is preferred.
