Here are some ways we do that: Competitive Pay and Performance-Based Bonuses Earn retirement savings without any cost to you through our Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) 401(k) Training and Tuition Reimbursement Work/Life Balance Paid Holidays and Time Off Health and Wellness Benefits Tool Benefits, PPE/Uniforms, Safety Boot Program Life and Short Term Disability paid for by company GENERAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (This is a representative list of the general duties the position may be asked to perform, and is not intended to be all-inclusive) Tax Responsibilities: Prepare sales and use tax returns, including heavy equipment filings, and perform related account reconciliations Prepare business license filings, annual reports, and other operational tax filings Assist with sales and use tax, property tax, GST/HST, and business license compliance across all entities Assist with onboarding of newly acquired or formed companies, including tax registrations and business licenses Support tax audits by gathering documentation and assisting with responses to taxing authorities Assist with tax notices, including gathering support and preparing draft responses Review invoices for taxability and prepare use tax accruals Maintain customer exemption certificates and respond to routine inquiries Assist in the preparation of property tax data for third-party consultants and support review of renditions Assist in the preparation and analysis of property tax forecasts Monitor changes in tax laws and regulations and escalate relevant items to management Prepare components of federal income tax returns and state income and franchise tax filings; coordinate with external providers as needed Assist with income tax calculations, return preparation, and payments Support tax provision calculations and related schedules Compile and reconcile subsidiary tax data and assist with consolidation and filings using OneSource or similar software Perform tax research and summarize findings for review Treasury Responsibilities: Execute day-to-day treasury operations, including wires, ACH and check payments, and payment setup Assist with payment processing and ensure adherence to internal controls Support banking relationships, corporate card programs, and third-party payment providers Respond to routine internal inquiries related to treasury activities Assist with compliance requirements, including KYC documentation and positive pay controls Assist with opening, closing, and maintaining bank accounts and related documentation Maintain bank account signers and user access records, ensuring accuracy and proper approvals Support employees using banking platforms and treasury systems Assist in monitoring debt covenant compliance and preparing supporting schedules General Responsibilities: Follow established cash management and internal control processes Assist with payment activities across service company and subsidiaries in compliance with segregation of duties Support cross-functional projects, including acquisitions, integrations, and financial analysis Assist with accounting and finance projects, including calculations, analysis, and data gathering Ensure all activities comply with Sammons Industrial policies, procedures, and governance standards Perform other related duties as assigned

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting required; Master’s degree with tax emphasis preferred
  • CPA or progress toward CPA preferred; CTP a plus
  • 3-5 years of relevant experience in tax and/or accounting roles
  • Ability to successfully pass a background check, including a credit check, consistent with the responsibilities of the role
  • Experience with SureTax, CertifyTax, and OneSource or similar systems preferred
  • Exposure to treasury operations or willingness to develop treasury skillset
  • Experience with or ability to learn NetSuite, Prophix, and other financial systems
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; developing understanding of internal controls
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated intellectual curiosity and proactive approach to learning, researching, and resolving issues
  • Proficient in MS Office, particularly Excel
