Summary of Role: GlobalFoundries is looking to hire a Sr. Factory Automation Technician to sustain and run the fab floor with primary responsibility of resolving equipment and system issues specific to the factory automation systems and robotics. This technician position is a NIGHT shift hourly role (12.5% shift differential applies for nights) working a compressed week of 12-hour shifts. This is the N1 night shift working 7PM - 7AM (Sun, Mon, Tues, rotating Saturdays). GlobalFoundries is a 24/7 manufacturing facility providing technician support across all shifts.

Requirements

  • Education – 2 Year associate's degree in engineering Discipline (Mechanical/Electrical) and/or equivalent military experience.
  • Experience – 18+ months of relevant experience and/or equivalent military experience (external applicants must pass a technical aptitude assessment)
  • Fluency in English Language - both Written & Verbal.
  • Physical Capacity Demands - 12-hour Alternate Work Schedule (Nights), ability to be on your feet for up to 10 hours during a shift, and lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Work in a clean room environment wearing gloves and a clean room suit, as well as all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and in a team environment
  • Strong and effective communication skills

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering discipling (Mechanical / Electrical)
  • Experience in Semiconductor Equipment Maintenance or other experience in robotics
  • 18+ months experience in semiconductor manufacturing / robotics or related technical experience

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, control, and repair factory automation and mobile robotics equipment
  • Perform basic preventive maintenance activities
  • React to error messages of factory systems and/or equipment
  • Process wafers using defined procedures
  • Perform visual inspections (quality checks)
  • Recover from equipment and system interruptions
  • Identify and address potential areas for improvement and optimize tool availability, cycle time, utilization and cost
  • Complete all required reporting and documentation
  • Understand and follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures and requirements
  • Actively participate in continuous improvement processes, learning and skills development
  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.
  • Strong team member, able to work well with a global team, and other duties as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned by manager
