Summary of Responsibilities: Do you enjoy using technology to anticipate the future? We’re looking for a Transmission Planning Engineer to model and analyze our transmission network to evaluate market congestion and develop innovative and cost-effective solutions. Essential Responsibilities: You’ll use your bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering to perform market congestion and power flow studies. You’ll use your knowledge of power systems to assess limitations on our system. You’ll use economic analyses to develop cost-effective short- and long-term transmission system plans. All these efforts will help ATC provide solutions that ensure appropriately reliable power flow through our system. In addition, this role will make use of data to anticipate performance of our future system, and allow us to flexibly address the future we can’t predict. The work our Transmission Planning Engineers perform is crucial to confirm the need for projects, refine project scopes and ensure development of appropriate alternatives, schedules, and cost estimates.
