About The Position

The SRM Installation Technician is responsible for the physical installation of Westfalia SRM (Storage & Retrieval Machine) and VRC (Vertical Reciprocating Conveyor) equipment. This position works closely with the SRM Installation Supervisor and SRM Installation Leader to ensure the equipment is installed safely, on-time, in-budget, and in-spec.

Requirements

  • 75% travel (Travel typically encompasses 10-21 days away at a time)
  • US Passport or the ability to obtain a US Passport within 6 months of hire
  • Familiarity with construction industry heavy machinery.

  • Calm and measured demeanor, de-escalating, and able to draw discussions back to the subject level.

  • Knowledge of metal fabrication, welding, and assembly procedures

  • Clear understanding of installation drawings and tolerances

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Nice To Haves

  • OSHA 10 or 30-hour certification
  • High school diploma
  • Experience in the construction industry
  • Electro-mechanical experience

Responsibilities

  • Installation, dismantling, maintaining, repairing, reassembling, rigging, lifting and moving SRM and VRC equipment.
  • Using an optical device to align, measure and correct the placement of critical machinery.
  • Climbing and working at heights over 100’ high.
  • Knowing and working with all types of equipment in support of the rigging and lifting of various weighted assemblies/pieces.
  • Preparing jobsite for receipt and installation of shipping containers and equipment.
  • Following of all quality and safety requirements.
  • Perform daily quality checks to ensure the equipment is in-spec. If nonconformances are found, take measures to meet specifications.
  • Perform uncrating, damage inspection, assembly, erecting, installation, and setup of Westfalia SRM & VRC equipment (custom tools and jigs, welder, etc.)
  • Field revisions and marking up of the drawings.
  • Organizing and cleaning the jobsite each day when the work is complete.
  • Crate leftover material and tools for shipment to the next destination at the completion of each phase
  • Submitting of timesheets and expense reports according to Westfalia’s requirements.
