About The Position

The Denver Police Department is looking for a dedicated and knowledgeable Stable Master to join our team and take pride in the daily care, management, and well-being of our horses and facilities. This is a hands-on role for someone who thrives in a barn environment, values organization and routine, and has a genuine passion for equine care. The ideal candidate will bring strong horsemanship skills, attention to detail, and a proactive mindset to oversee feeding schedules, stall maintenance, health monitoring, and coordination with staff and veterinarians. Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or the possession of a GED, HiSET or TASC Certificate.
  • One (1) year of experience working with horses and related facilities and equipment.
  • This job requires driving. Requires a valid Driver's License at the time of application. Licenses and certifications must be kept current as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

  • Providing daily care to the horses
  • Monitor the health of the horses, notifying medical personnel regarding any issues
  • Administration of health care procedures prescribed by a veterinarian
  • Observe all common safety practices associated with the care and maintenance of horses
  • Maintenance of facilities and horse stables
  • Maintaining a clean and safe environment by disposing horse manure from horse stalls
  • Orders and stocks necessary items and supply for maintenance of horses and facilities
  • Performs minor repairs and maintenance on transportation equipment for horses
  • Performs general clerical functions
  • Transporting and delivering equipment
