Primary responsibilities include financial period closings, G/L accounting, account reconciliations, various business analysis, and a variety of other accounting functions. Key interpersonal skills include: Flexible, resourceful, strong communication skills, self-motivated/ability to work with little or no supervision, computer/technical literacy, and willing to travel as needed.

Requirements

  • Accounting knowledge – 4-year degree in accounting
  • 3+ years’ experience in accounting including experience with analysis, reconciling accounts, cost accounting, receivables and payables, and journal entries, preferably in manufacturing industry
  • Advance proficiency in Microsoft office products (Excel, PowerPoint and Word)
  • Current knowledge of business and accounting systems (SAP) and LIMS highly preferred
  • Strong initiative and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Attentive to details and accuracy
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure

  • CPA, CMA, MBA preferred

Responsibilities

  • Complete monthly, quarterly and annual financial close process under direction of Accounting Manager
  • Prepare journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
  • Compile, enter and analyze financial information
  • Analyze key processes and recommend internal control improvements
  • Assist with design, testing and integration of two system implementations
  • Perform ad hoc projects and analyses under the direction of Accounting Manager
  • Partner with management to prepare value added analysis and reports
  • Keep Accounting Manager apprised of potential concerns and statuses
  • Synthesizes month-to-date and year-to-date variance explanations for all plants
  • Responds to ongoing requests from plants for accounting and financial information and support
  • Analyze manufacturing cost standards and review variances with management for root cause
  • Apply principles of accounting theory and use of judgment and other professional skills to determine the appropriate procedures for preparing and maintaining accounting records and reports
  • Train and mentor peers
  • Performs other related duties as assigned
  • Supports ERP master file maintenance activities
