We are looking for a bright and motivated professional accountant to join our controllership team. Reporting into the Senior Accounting Manager or Financial Controller, you will be responsible for supporting the controllership function of the company, completing monthly financial close procedures. The Staff Accountant will work closely with the Finance team to ensure accuracy and completeness of general ledger, analyzing variances, reviewing reconciliations and supporting the completion of the month end close process on a timely basis. StackAdapt is a Remote First company, we are open to candidates located anywhere in the Canada and willing to work within EST time zone for this position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting
  • Have 3+ year of experience in accounting and finance
  • Designated CPA or close to obtaining your designation
  • Solid knowledge and practical experience in applying IFRS or US GAAP

Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly accounting entries, reconciliations, and internal control procedures at the consolidated and entity level
  • Collaborate with tax/treasury team to complete regulatory fillings internationally
  • Review source financial data from cross-functional teams to ensure accuracy and clearly explain variances impacting the financial statements.
  • Participate in process improvement projects such as accounting policy reviews and process automation projects.
  • Proactively improve processes and efficiency by applying critical thinking and a high-level perspective to routine activities, incorporating best practices into daily workflows.
  • Conduct monthly fluctuation analysis across assigned areas, delivering clear, well- supported explanations of key variances.
  • Support in annual internal and external audit requests
  • Assist with the overall month end close process to ensure timelines are met
  • Act as a key finance liaison for international operations, coordinating closely with teams in the APAC and EMEA regions to streamline regional reporting.
  • Ad hoc projects as needed
