About The Position

RSS is seeking a detailed-oriented Staff Accountant to join our corporate team in our Omaha, NE, supporting operations across 20+ states with 35+ locations. RSS represents full-service line striping and pavement marking companies providing high quality highway, roadway, and parking lot striping services throughout the United States. This role will lead the Accounts Payable process while contributing to financial reporting, account reconciliations, and month-end close activities. The ideal candidate is organized, analytical, and committed to accuracy and continuous improvement. You'll collaborate closely with accounting leadership and operational teams to ensure financial integrity and support efficient processes across the organization.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• Strong understanding of GAAP principles
• Advanced Excel skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Excellent time management and ability to meet deadlines
• Analytical and problem-solving mindset
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Nice To Haves

• 2-5 years of accounting experience preferred
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems preferred

Responsibilities

• Accounts Payable Lead and manage the full Accounts Payable process
• Ensure accurate and timely recording of transactions
• Monitor AP aging, process payments, and resolve discrepancies
• Prepare and post journal entries
• Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts
• Assist with month-end close activities
• Support financial reporting and internal reporting needs
• Perform bank, credit card, and account reconciliations
• Investigate and resolve variances or discrepancies
• Analyze financial data and explain fluctuations
• Maintain accurate financial records and documentation
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Assist with audit preparation and requests
• Identify and implement process improvements
• Support enhancements to controls, reporting, and workflows
