The Staff Accountant will prepare and maintain financial records to track the organizations assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities This position is fully onsite Monday - Friday

Requirements

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel with emphasis on VLOOKUP function and pivot tables
  • Ability to independently research, analyze, and resolve issues and discrepancies.
  • Fast learner with a results-driven mindset and the ability to work independently.
  • Attention to accuracy and detail required.
  • Must be organized and neat.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior accounting experience preferred, specifically with balance sheet reconciliations and journal entries
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, accruals, balance sheet reconciliations, and maintenance of general ledger accounts.
  • Perform detailed general ledger account reconciliations; investigate, identify, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Maintain full responsibility for the reconciliation process for assigned accounts, owning the process end-to-end, to ensure integrity and accuracy of the balance sheet
  • Maintain accurate financial records and ensure proper reporting of profit and loss, assets, liabilities, and tax-related accounts.
  • Prepare daily and monthly financial reports, including key performance metrics, financial results, and variance analysis.
  • Develop and prepare ad hoc financial analyses and special reports for management by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing financial data and trends.
  • Partner with resort departments to provide guidance and support related to general ledger activity and financial reporting.
  • Identify and implement process automation and continuous improvement initiatives within the accounting function.
  • Reconcile transactions by reviewing, validating, and correcting financial data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Assist with annual audit processes by coordinating with external auditors and providing required documentation and account support.
  • Support annual external reporting requirements, including preparation of Forms 1099, W-2, escheatment, and other regulatory filings.
  • Collaborate with software vendors to maintain and optimize accounting systems; recommend enhancements to improve efficiency and internal controls.
  • Contribute to the development and enhancement of accounting policies and procedures.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned by management.
