LCIF empowers Lions clubs, volunteers and partners to improve health and well-being, strengthen communities and support those in need, locally and globally. We are currently looking for a Staff Accountant to join our team and rise to the challenge of empowering service. Position Highlights: Participate in month end closing procedures, including the reconciliation of grants, donations, and restricted funds as well as preparation of month-end journal entries. This role will also play a significant part in the budget and forecast process, the annual audit, and annual tax return preparation. Communication and collaboration with other departments/divisions in the organization is a key component in this role. Special ad hoc reporting as needed.

Requirements

  • BS or BA in Accounting/Finance or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • A Minimum two to three years’ related experience.
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Effective Technology Application (Advanced Excel, experience to ERP software systems such as SAP) a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, verify and control the entering of selected journal entries to the general ledger.
  • Monthly account reconciliations, analysis, and related journal entry preparation and posting.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating monthly closing procedures.
  • Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual reports for management and the Board of Trustees. Reviews and analyzes variances and provides commentary.
  • Provide support for the coordination and reporting of the budget and forecast.
  • Prepare periodic cash flow analysis.
  • Produce analysis of special year-end items (e.g., allowance for uncollectible pledges).
  • Compile selected schedules for external auditors.
  • Provide support for tax preparation and year-end reporting.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating procedures and internal controls.
  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional organizations as appropriate to field.
