About The Position

This role focuses on developing production-grade AI systems that transform decision-making in insurance, real estate, and operational workflows. As a Staff AI Engineer, you will design, build, and deploy large language model (LLM) applications that enhance efficiency, risk assessment, and accuracy across multiple business domains. You will work collaboratively with product managers, data scientists, and domain experts to integrate AI into core processes while ensuring compliance, reliability, and scalability. This is a high-impact role offering autonomy, technical challenge, and the opportunity to shape AI-driven solutions that deliver measurable business value. You will also mentor team members and help establish best practices for AI implementation and deployment.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience building and deploying production-grade AI or ML systems, particularly with LLMs and transformer architectures.
  • Deep understanding of LLM internals, including attention mechanisms, tokenization, fine-tuning techniques, and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Python, SQL, Git, Docker, and cloud-based deployment with MLOps methodologies.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to own complex projects with minimal oversight.
  • Experience communicating technical concepts clearly to business, legal, and engineering stakeholders.
  • Curiosity and adaptability to research, test, and implement new AI technologies and approaches.
  • Product-oriented mindset, with focus on delivering practical solutions with measurable business impact.

Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and deploy scalable LLM-based solutions for operational efficiency, risk analysis, and decision support.
  • Integrate external knowledge bases, APIs, and data sources into AI-driven applications to enhance functionality.
  • Maintain reliability, observability, traceability, and compliance of deployed AI systems.
  • Fine-tune and adapt large language models (e.g., GPT, Claude, LLaMA) for domain-specific tasks.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with domain experts, product teams, and engineering to align AI solutions with business and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to engineers and data teams to establish best practices for model development and deployment.
  • Ensure that AI solutions are robust, production-ready, and meet performance, scalability, and regulatory standards.
