About The Position

The Office of the State Auditor (OSA) is looking for Staff Auditor II to assist with various financial audits performed on entities across state government, including institutions of higher education. As part of our team, you will get to: • Participate in planning meetings for assigned audits where the team discusses audit risk and designs audit procedures to address the risks • Conduct on-site fieldwork, including gaining an understanding of internal controls • Review and analyze accounting transactions and perform test procedures on more complex audit areas • Document the results of your work and any potential findings

Requirements

  • Intermediate or working knowledge of auditing and accounting principles and practices
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated experience communicating effectively both orally and in writing
  • A bachelor's degree with 24 semester hours in accounting from an appropriately accredited institution and 2 years of experience in auditing/accounting OR An equivalent combination of education and experience
