About The Position

As a Staff Data Engineer for John Deere in Moline, IL, you will: Develop and support high quality data products by harmonizing data into suitable formats in data lake; Design data products for analytics; curate datasets for generating actionable insights to grow sales, personalize the customer experience, and make better and faster decisions; Synthesize data products to support Precision Ag business and related metrics, that aim at making farming more efficient, profitable, and sustainable. 10% domestic and international travel required to visit other Deere units, Deere test farms, Deere dealers, and customer farms. This is a 100% remote position. Can live anywhere in the U.S.

Requirements

  • 5 years of experience in designing and implementing comprehensive data architecture by transforming event analytics, raw application data, and business systems into actionable business insights, while conducting primary research to analyze key themes and trends. Databricks using modern CI/CD practices
  • 5 years of experience developing data pipelines using PySpark and Python. Hands-on experience with deploying the python code to Databricks using modern CI/CD practices
  • 3 years of experience data modeling, data cleansing, data validation, and data analysis for construction or agriculture equipment
  • 4 years of experience with implementing automated data validation and develop operational tools to highlight support issues
  • 2 years of experience with Databricks, including building ETL pipelines, developing jobs, and managing clusters for large-scale data processing
  • 5 years of experience developing insights from high-volume telematics data
  • 4 years of experience leading team to deliver large-scale complex projects, including team coordination and implementation
  • 4 years of experience optimizing data and analytics systems through automation using Python
  • 5 years of related work experience OR Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Engineering, or related field plus 4 years of related work experience
