About The Position

Pebble is seeking a Staff Electrical Architect to define and own the vehicle-level low-voltage and high-voltage electrical architecture from concept through production. This role serves as an authority for the vehicle's electrical system design, low voltage & high voltage power distribution, network topology, body & chassis electronics. The ideal candidate brings deep systems-level thinking, hands-on prototyping ability, and the communication skills to drive architectural decisions across hardware, software, harness, and integration teams. You will balance performance, cost, weight, reliability, manufacturability, and safety across every design decision and own the technical trade-offs that shape the vehicle platform.

Requirements

  • 12+ years of experience in electrical engineering or electrical systems architecture
  • 5+ years in a senior technical role designing or architecting vehicle electrical systems
  • Experience with NACS charging standards
  • Deep expertise in high voltage systems, low voltage systems, and power distribution in automotive applications
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet), compute platforms, and electrical integration
  • Deep expertise in vehicle control systems, diagnostics, fault responses, and control systems implementation
  • Experience with electrical safety standards (ISO 26262, ISO 13849, or equivalent)
  • Demonstrated ability to define architecture, make trade-off decisions, and drive implementation
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence across technical and executive teams

Nice To Haves

  • Familiarity with Camping & RVing
  • Familiarity with modern vehicle software and hardware integration
  • Experience designing electrical systems for manufacturability and scalability
  • Experience defining integration strategies across electrical systems and vehicle subsystems

Responsibilities

  • Define and maintain the vehicle-level electrical architecture across High Voltage and Low Voltage domains, including power distribution topology, grounding strategy, fuse and relay strategy
  • Own and maintain the vehicle power budget, ensuring proper load distribution, balancing, and load profile
  • Design and own the vehicle communication network architecture (CAN, LIN, Ethernet)
  • Architect the HV system including battery pack integration, contactors, pre-charge circuits, isolation monitoring, DC fast charging interface, and HV interlock loops
  • Architect the LV system including 12V  power distribution, body control modules, lighting, HVAC, accessory loads, and auxiliary power management
  • Develop and maintain system block diagrams, interface control documents, wiring architecture standards, and electrical design specifications
  • Develop requirements with hardware, software, and integration for component definition and sourcing
  • Lead architectural trade studies evaluating performance, cost, weight, reliability, and regulatory compliance across design alternatives
