About The Position

TCOM is seeking a Staff Electrical Engineer to design, develop, test, and oversee the production of electrical systems and equipment. They analyze and interpret technical specifications, create electrical schematics and designs, and ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations. Their responsibilities often involve conducting experiments, troubleshooting issues, and providing solutions for improving the efficiency, performance, and reliability of electrical systems. Requirements

• Experience in PCB/PCA ECAD (preferably Altium) design, simulation, manufacturing, and testing.
• Proficiency with electrical lab equipment; oscilloscopes, power supplies, logic analyzer, and data acquisition systems required.
• Comfortable working in a hands- on lab environment.
• Self-motivated individual that works effectively with minimal supervision.
• Furthers knowledge of profession through continued education.
• Provides mentorship by sharing experiences with less experienced engineers.
• Must meet eligibility requirements for access to government classified information.
• Travel may be necessary.
• US Persons required for this position.
• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, in a field related to specific position.
• Advanced engineer with 8-12 years of career experience, with bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or master’s degree.
• Or experience in lieu of education.

Nice To Haves

• Proficiency with electrical lab equipment; spectrum analyzers, vector network analyzer, and signal generators highly desired.
• RF design experience is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and document test setups, test cables, and test procedures for verification of radar systems and subsystems.
• Applies mathematical and engineering principles and methods to designs.
• Performs extensive testing and validation of designs to ensure reliability, performance, and safety standards are achieved.
• Conducts research and studies new technologies to innovate and design solutions or products.
• Research, evaluate, develop, and test radar systems and subsystems involving GHz RF circuits, FPGAs, Microprocessors, and mixed signal data converters.
• Troubleshoot and investigate customer trouble reports on fielded prototype systems; determine root causes and generate design improvements to eliminate failure points.
• Perform or facilitate installation/testing related to the product, system, or
• Determine purpose, application, and feasibility of new or enhancement of existing products or processes.
• Create and update documentation for new and existing designs in all phases of the product lifecycle.
• Work with external customers, distributors, vendors, or suppliers to initiate new designs and solve problems.
• Coordinate engineering efforts and provide engineering assistance to internal teams or external customers.
• Has extensive breadth and depth of knowledge in a field of specialization and working knowledge of other fields.
• Work is stated in terms of objectives requiring planning and judgment.
• Performs work of a diverse scope, where data requires evaluation of various factors.
• Exercises independent judgment with broadly defined practices and policies in obtaining results.
• Has critical project technical leadership responsibility; may plan or lead work assignments for lower-level engineers and Goals are generally communicated in “solution” or project goal terms.
