About The Position

We are seeking a highly motivated Staff Field Application Engineer to drive technical growth and customer engagement across the western United States. This role focuses on delivering innovative connectivity solutions for industrial and commercial transportation applications, supporting distributors, end customers, and internal teams. You will lead the technical aspects of the sales cycle, provide hands-on training, and identify opportunities for product expansion and optimization. The position offers a mix of independent work and collaboration with cross-functional teams in a fast-paced, dynamic environment. The role is ideal for someone with strong technical expertise, excellent communication skills, and a passion for solving complex customer challenges in the field. Remote work is supported, with travel across the territory as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in field applications, sales engineering, or technical support.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present technical concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Strong customer focus with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • High energy, initiative, and the ability to adapt to changing priorities and strategies.
  • Analytical and structured thinking to address customer requests effectively.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; SAP experience preferred.
  • Willingness to travel throughout the western United States as required.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as the primary technical resource for the territory, guiding distributors and end customers on solutions for existing and new applications.
  • Conducting on-site visits to understand customer needs, deliver tailored solutions, and recommend product enhancements.
  • Leading technical training sessions for distributors, channel partners, and end customers, including new product introductions and refresher programs.
  • Collaborating with internal teams and distributors to advance sales opportunities, including forecasting, project execution, and post-sale support.
  • Monitoring competitive activity and providing market feedback to product management, including pricing, design improvements, and target accounts.
  • Identifying new applications and supporting product portfolio expansion to maximize business impact.
