Requirements

  • 9–12 years of experience in full stack engineering, with strength in either: Backend systems (Python and/or Go), or Frontend product engineering (React and/or modern JavaScript frameworks).
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript.
  • Experience leading large technical projects and influencing architectural direction.
  • Background in high-growth startup environments or product-driven technology companies.
  • Demonstrated ownership of end-to-end systems in B2B or product-centric environments.
  • Experience mentoring engineers and raising technical standards.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate trade-offs and technical decisions clearly.
  • Computer Science degree or equivalent technical foundation.
  • Located in or willing to relocate to San Francisco.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in early-stage startups (Seed to Series D) with 0→1 product development.
  • Prior leadership experience such as Tech Lead, Engineering Manager, VP Engineering, or Founder.
  • Experience building platform infrastructure or core product systems at scale.
  • Exposure to AI-powered products or data-intensive systems.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a key technical leader driving architecture and platform strategy.
  • Design and implement large-scale, high-impact systems across backend, infrastructure, and product layers.
  • Own complex, end-to-end technical initiatives from concept through deployment.
  • Lead development of core platform components, including chat systems, analytics pipelines, participant incentives, and recruitment infrastructure.
  • Define technical standards and elevate engineering rigor across the team.
  • Mentor and support engineers while maintaining a high bar for execution quality.
  • Collaborate closely with product and leadership to align engineering efforts with company objectives.
  • Contribute meaningfully to technical roadmap planning and long-term scalability strategy.
