Staff or Senior Accountant ATG (Applied Technology Group) is the premier technology business partner for the Architectural, Engineering, and Construction (AEC) industry in North America. Job Summary Certain of these qualifications and responsibilities apply most directly to a staff-level role, and certain to a senior-level role. Candidate eligibility between these role opportunities will be determined based on their experience and qualifications. Under direct or limited supervision, the accountant position will perform a variety of routine technical accounting work, general ledger entries and reporting, maintaining and reconcile general ledger balances. These duties require a strong application of accounting principles, practices, and theory to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and industry standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (CPA or MBA a plus, but not required).
  • In lieu of degree, 3+ years of relevant experience.
  • 1+ years of accounting, finance, or relevant experience.
  • Potential for Senior level role for more tenured candidates.
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial statements.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to clear documentation
  • Advanced Excel skills required, including the ability manipulate large data files to perform various analysis using tools such as XLOOKUPs & Pivot Tables.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven team environment.
  • The position requires the ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week, with additional hours as needed to meet deadlines and complete assignments.
  • The candidate should be comfortable sitting or standing for prolonged periods and must be able to travel between office locations, including locations with stair access.
  • Strong English communication skills—both verbal and written—are essential, along with the ability to comprehend and respond effectively to colleagues and clients.
  • Visual and auditory capability, with or without corrective devices, is necessary to support interactions and project requirements.
  • Additionally, the candidate should be able to lift and carry office items weighing up to 30 pounds as needed.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without company sponsorship.

Nice To Haves

  • CPA or MBA a plus, but not required
  • Experience with Microsoft Business Central ERP system, QuickBooks, and tax compliance tools is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Performs professional accounting work such as entering transactions, performing and reviewing reconciliations, trial balances, journal entries, variance analyses, preparing working papers, schedules and reports.
  • Examines a variety of accounting documents to verify accuracy of computations.
  • Ensure that transactions are in accordance with applicable authority, policies, procedures, and are recorded consistently and within accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Prepares accounting reports utilizing manual methods and/or computer software.
  • Coordinate with Director of Accounting and the rest of the accounting team in achieving fast and accurate month and year end close reporting, reconciliations, and procedures.
  • Assist in periodic audits.
  • Other duties as assigned.
