About The Position

Actively uses process development tools and systems such as Process FMEA, Gage R&R, SPC, DOE and ISO 9000 & 9014 methodologies in the development of fabrication processes and analysis of experimental results. Ensures that each fabrication process step is properly documented, reviewed and approved before it is adopted as the AMD/NJ standard technological procedure. Works with company confidential or business sensitive information related to the equipment and processes utilized in the fabrication of SiC and other AMD materials. Performs and supervises technological steps of wafer fabrication including, boule separation, orientation, OD and flat grinding, wire sawing, laser marking, edge grinding in accordance with documented procedures. Work with engineers, scientists, and AMD management team to identify needs for new and/or upgraded fabrication capabilities, and to prepare the annual fabrication manpower, capital equipment and operational expense budgets. Analyzes fabrication processes to determine process reliability and “bottlenecks”.  Analyzes process/product failure modes and provides feedback for process optimization. Performs trouble-shooting, problem identification and corrective action activities when the fabrication equipment or process is not performing to standards, specifications or customer expectations. Monitors the preventative maintenance program for fabrication equipment. Performs process and equipment troubleshooting, problem identification and corrective action activities. Tracks equipment downtime and idle time to provide efficiency studies presented in a formal setting. Execute the design, procurement, installation, startup and hardening of new or upgraded equipment according to approved budgets and timelines. Ensure that operators/users are properly trained to carry out new/upgraded fabrication procedures in a safe and accurate manner before certifying them to utilize new/upgraded fabrication equipment. Assists Operations Manager and Production Supervisor in planning, scheduling and resource allocation for fabrication. Participates in Advanced Material R&D Programs by organizing and carrying out project activities.  Adheres to the project timelines and milestones. Summarizes experimental results in formal or informal written and oral reports.  Participates in R&D meetings by providing reports, plans, meeting minutes, action items and other requested documentation. Continual interaction with managers, engineers, scientists, supervisors and technicians at the AMD location.  Regular problem solving communications with persons at various levels of authority and/or at remote locations.
