Weaver Consultants Group, an environmental, civil and geotechnical engineering consulting firm, is seeking to expand our Environmental Practice Group in our Chicago office. Primary Responsibilities: We are seeking a beginner to intermediate-level Scientist/Geologist/Engineer with experience in environmental field work and supporting report preparation. The qualified candidates would ideally have 2–5 years of professional experience with the following environmental activities: Proficiency with IEPA TACO IEPA LUST investigation and reporting activities IEPA SRP investigation and reporting activities ASTM Phase I and Phase II ESAs Soil excavation oversight and confirmation sampling Conducting soil, groundwater, and soil-gas sampling Overseeing soil boring and monitoring well installation Document review and reporting including laboratory data analysis Preparation of groundwater elevation contour maps and geologic cross sections Qualifications: BS in Environmental Science, Engineering, Geology, or related field Strong technical writing skills Ability to travel 40–50% (primarily local), occasionally on short notice Strong Microsoft Office Word and Excel skills Valid Driver’s License Must communicate effectively with team members, managers, subcontractors, and on-site personnel Able to work independently with limited guidance and be detail-oriented Strong understanding of and commitment to health and safety protocols Willing to work outside in a variety of climates and traverse tough terrain Willing to work at active industrial properties Willing to work over and/or outside of regular business hours, as needed 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER certification a plus Integral to the position will be proficiency in review, interpretation, and application of local, federal, and state environmental regulations, as well as detailed standards from organizations such as ASTM. The qualified person would prepare supporting reports associated with the above-listed activities in accordance with applicable standards and agency regulations. The selected candidate would work in a team environment with senior staff providing support, guidance, and mentorship as needed. Salary Range: $65,000–$80,000, commensurate with experience. Requirements
