Job Summary: We’re hiring a Staff iOS Engineer to guide the technical direction of commerce experiences in the Venmo iOS app. You’ll work closely with product designers, Android and backend engineers, and help several feature squads deliver fast, reliable, and accessible experiences. In this role you’ll have broad influence on patterns, tooling, and quality across mobile. Additional Responsibilities & Preferred Qualifications: What You’ll Do Build, test, and ship features for Pay with Venmo and Business Profiles using Swift, SwiftUI, and Combine (with occasional Objective‑C touchpoints). Lead design discussions and code reviews, ensuring durable architectures and clean abstractions. Modernize our codebasemigrating UIKit to SwiftUI, adopting async/await, and improving build times. Partner with server teams to craft efficient GraphQL and REST APIs that keep the app fast and data‑savvy. Champion performance, accessibility, and reliability; measure what matters and keep our SLIs green. Mentor other iOS engineers through pairing, design sessions, and thoughtful feedback. Prototype new commerce ideas and AI‑powered features (Core ML, on‑device inference) and help bring successful spikes to production. Navigate ambiguity with curiosityframing trade‑offs clearly and charting a path forward when the problem statement is still evolving.
