No matter where you are or how you express yourself, it's always the fastest way to share a moment! We're looking for a Staff Software Engineer to join the Operating systems team at Snap Inc!
Responsibilities
- Lead or significantly contribute to the design and architecture of system software and operating systems for both prototype and shipping consumer products.
- Design, implement and maintain software components at all layers of the Operating System including the kernel, synchronization primitives, I/O subsystems and more.
- Actively participate in design reviews, code review with peers and stakeholders to ensure high quality, reliable solutions.
- Triage complex product or system issues, analyze root causes and develop effective solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in a relevant technical field such as computer science or electrical engineering or equivalent years of experience.
- 6+ years of experience with system software development.
- 5+ years of experience developing SW for audio/video frameworks or WLAN/cellular.
- Technical leadership experience with specialization in at least one of the following areas: Audio/Video or WLAN/BT.
- Proficiency in programming C and C++ on Linux.
Nice-to-haves
- 10+ years of experience of developing Operating Systems including Inter-process communication and application framework.
- 10+ years of experience in leading the development of SW for Audio/Video or WLAN/BT protocols.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
