Responsibilities

  • Ensures appropriate staffing of the nursing units on a daily basis.
  • Looks ahead to fill vacant shifts with internal staff and external supplemental staffing agencies.
  • Inputs accurate census, acuity and staffing data into the scheduling system to generate daily reports.
  • Performs clerical, reception and general office duties.
  • Creates a culture of sensitivity to nurses' needs while filling the patient care bases.
  • Coordinates small program(s) with limited budget/impact.
  • Creates, maintains and updates daily staffing sheets.
  • Updates the 'working' master schedules on a daily basis.
  • Coordinates with bed control to ensure required assignments are staffed.
  • Maintains and updates employee contact information for designated areas.
  • Maintains staff qualifications list.
  • Maintains attendance records, on-call and float lists.
  • Processes leave requests.
  • Inputs data into payroll system.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Education/GED or equivalent: Preferred
  • Associate’s/Technical Degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience: Preferred
