The Staffing Coordinator ensures appropriate day to day staffing of all nursing departments. Assists Nursing Leadership with the maintenance of contract labor HR files, schedules, sick call monitoring, contract labor utilization and staffing changes. Coordinates and performs a broad range of clerical support functions in the nursing unit. Specific duties include performing reception functions, ad hoc projects, inventory and ordering of unit supplies, collecting and compiling patient data, and assembling and organizing medical records. Coordinates and assists with patient access, nursing, and case management for patient admission and discharge process. Key Responsibilities Supports patient care units by receiving staffing requests and allocating available resources within the Department of Nursing on a shift-by-shift basis. Allocates available staffing resources based on identified patient care needs and recommended staffing with unit staffing resources and requests. Collaborates with Administrative House Supervisors/Unit Leaders to meet staffing needs. Analyzes staffing patterns and trends to determine when staffing needs are balanced. Coordinates and assists with Patient Access, Nursing, and Case Management during patient admission and discharge process. Assists Nursing Leadership with the maintenance of schedules, sick call monitoring, contract labor utilization and staffing changes. Validates and ensures accuracy of invoices for contract services. Maintains contract labor Human Resources files. Actively engages in caring behaviors, taking conscious ownership for work and takes a proactive, deliberate, and thoughtful actions regarding work activities. Demonstrates appropriate use of independent judgement and decision making.
