About The Position

Reporting to the Assistant Director, DHKT Production, the Stage Supervisor is responsible for assisting with show coverage duties for the Theater’s rental clients on an as-needed basis. Major Duties and Responsibilities: Supervise the DHKT IATSE crew(s) and ensure that work rules and house policies are followed. Coordinate with Stage Management and House Management to ensure that house is handed over at top of show and intermissions. Communicate with building engineers for HVAC adjustments. Liaise with the show team for any show needs as they arise. Collaborate with Front of House and the Building Operations team for any security or porter needs.

Requirements

  • Requires a high school diploma or GED
  • 3–5 years professional backstage or technical theatre experience in a union or nonprofit environment
  • At least 1 year of crew leadership or supervisory responsibility
  • Demonstrated technical knowledge in stage operations (carpentry, rigging, lighting, or audio)
  • Ability to work within IATSE jurisdiction and applicable collective bargaining agreements
  • Strong knowledge of safety practices and live performance operations
  • Candidates must be comfortable with the physical demands of standing for 8–12 hour shifts and navigating a large-scale facility during irregular on-call hours (early mornings, nights, and weekends).

Nice To Haves

  • Degree in theatre or related field preferred but not required
