DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Customer Service & Sales Maintain an atmosphere of enthusiastic customer awareness with a focus on fast, friendly service. Assist customers with product suggestions and special orders. Engage in suggestive selling techniques via phone, in‑store intercom announcements, and direct interaction. Answer incoming calls professionally, resolve customer issues appropriately, and escalate to the Store Director when necessary. Starbucks Operations & Product Preparation Possess detailed knowledge of duties performed by all department employees. Oversee and assist with preparation, brewing, and serving of all food and beverage items. Implement proper and efficient product preparation, handling, and packaging techniques. Operate equipment including: Kitchen utensils, conventional/microwave ovens Coffee and espresso machines, grinders, blenders Printers and pallet jacks Brew coffee and tea to company standards. Maintain quality of hot and cold foods. Operate electronic cash register, process payments, and make correct change. Merchandising, Displays & Department Appearance Maintain case cleanliness, organization, and visual appeal. Ensure the Starbucks area, equipment, and surrounding workspaces are clean, sanitized, and safe. Build displays, rotate stock, and remove outdated or spoiled product. Implement effective promotional and seasonal displays. Ensure proper product signing and accurate pricing. Inventory, Ordering & Shrink Control Prepare sales and inventory reports; complete physical inventory every 4 weeks. Control inventory to ensure product quantity, quality, and freshness following division directives. Stock and rotate products; maintain and organize the cooler. Maintain compliance with code‑dating policies. Control shrink and cost through proper receiving, handling, and product management. Receiving & Product Handling Perform receiving duties including: Breaking down loads Verifying invoices Inspecting quality Reporting shortages Stocking and rotating product Follow temperature, storage, and packaging guidelines. Maintain accurate administrative paperwork and department records. Leadership, Training & Staff Development Schedule, supervise, train, and assign duties to department employees. Ensure staffing levels provide adequate coverage and service. Train employees on store policies, sales practices, and record‑keeping procedures. Identify and develop employees with high potential for advancement. Monitor employee productivity and evaluate performance. Initiate personnel actions such as interviews, transfers, promotions, and disciplinary measures. Attend and participate in sales meetings; communicate sales goals and performance metrics to staff. Compliance, Safety & Procedures Maintain working knowledge of company policies as outlined in the Albertsons/Tom Thumb Employee Handbook. Ensure product temperature levels are maintained at all times. Comply with retail labeling laws, federal/state regulations, company policies, and code‑dating standards. Ensure safety, cleanliness, and sanitation of sales floor, work area, freezer, cooler, and equipment. Implement emergency procedures for equipment or software malfunctions. Ensure compliance with grooming standards and dress code. Perform all job duties safely, accurately, and with honesty and integrity. Reporting & Documentation Complete, maintain, and monitor: Daily log sheets Production Logs Par Charts Sales and Labor reports Other required documentation Other Perform other necessary and required duties as assigned.
