About The Position

Starbucks Supervisors are in charge of overseeing the day-to-day operations of their store. They ensure that all employees are following company policies and procedures, as well as handling any customer service issues that may arise. Starbucks supervisors also play an important role in training new employees and helping them get up to speed on Starbucks’ products and services. This includes everything from teaching them how to make drinks properly to ensuring they understand the company’s values and mission statement.

Requirements

  • High school or GED desirable
  • Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours).
  • Ability to perform assigned duties with attention to detail, speed, accuracy, follow through, courtesy, cooperativeness and work with a minimum of supervision.
  • Outgoing personality, positive attitude strong communication skills, and pleasant/clean appearance.
  • Ability to satisfactorily communicate in English with guests, co-workers and management to their understanding.
  • Possess basic math skills and have the ability to handle money.
  • Ability to grasp, bend, and stoop; push or pull heavy loads weighing up to 40 lbs.
  • Weekly load stacking up to 100 lbs.
  • Constant computer/POS Register and bar equipment usage
  • Constant receiving detailed information through oral communication
  • Constant talking, expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word
  • Occasional distinguishing, with a degree of accuracy, differences or similarities in intensity or quality of flavors and/or odors
  • Constant clarity of vision at near and/or far distances
  • Punctuality and regular and reliable attendance.

Responsibilities

  • Training new employees in company policies and procedures to ensure that they are familiar with all aspects of their jobs
  • Monitoring employee performance, providing feedback and coaching employees on improving their performance
  • Ensuring that all company policies are being followed by employees on a daily basis
  • Overseeing employees’ performance on the job and helping them improve their skills through training workshops or one-on-one coaching sessions
  • Assigning tasks to employees who are working on projects such as planning events or creating promotional materials
  • Managing employee schedules to ensure that all shifts are covered
  • Reporting any customer complaints to management for follow up, as needed
  • Updating computer systems with new inventory, employee information, or changes in company policies or procedures
  • Performs related and/or other duties as required.
