Centurion is proud to be the new provider of comprehensive healthcare services to the Illinois Department of Corrections. We are currently seeking a full-time Statewide Psychiatry Director to serve as the clinical leader for our Illinois contract. The Statewide Psychiatry Director will provide the clinical direction needed to meet the mental health/psychiatric service delivery requirements of the Illinois state contract in collaboration with the Program Manager/Vice President of Operations. The Statewide Psychiatric Director supervises psychiatric staff and collaborates with multidisciplinary teams in providing services to patients with psychiatric disorders in a correctional setting. The Statewide Psychiatry Director will also: Supervise the psychiatric staff and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in providing services to patients with psychiatric disorders in a correctional setting. Provide interface with client’s clinical and administrative leadership on issues related to psychiatric services Direct, coordinate, and evaluate psychiatric treatments in collaboration with the mental health multidisciplinary team. Collaborate in the monitoring of patients requiring on-going mental health services and the development of individualized mental health treatment plans and continuity of care Provide clinical direction and leadership to psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and other mental health staff Ensures patient care is appropriate, accurate, and received in a timely manner and in compliance with NCCHC and other relevant standards of care Ensure that necessary schedules of psychiatric assignment and supervision are provided and maintained to provide for continuity of care Monitor psychotropic medication utilization within the contract Oversee the involuntary medication review process Facilitate the admission, placement, and discharge of patients from mental health units if required Establish and ensure the operational availability to provide 24 hour on-call access to psychiatric consultation Monitor records in all aspects of psychiatric practices including but not limited to timeliness and accuracy of health records and patient care practices Participate in the development, implementation and monitoring of mental health policies, procedures and protocols Conduct Mortality Reviews for all patient suicides and other deaths involving mental health issues Highly competitive salary and comprehensive benefits package are offered for this leadership role.
