As a Stationary Engineer, you will be a central figure responsible for the safe and efficient operation, maintenance, and repair of our facility's critical mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring continuous functionality for all building occupants. You will play a vital role in maintaining a stable and comfortable environment while optimizing energy and system reliability. Every day, you will expertly monitor, operate, and troubleshoot complex HVAC, refrigeration, boiler, and power generation systems, performing meticulous preventive maintenance and repairs. You will also maintain precise logs, respond promptly to alarms and emergencies, and collaborate with other facilities personnel to ensure all infrastructure operates at peak efficiency. To be successful in this role, you will combine a valid Stationary Engineer license, extensive experience in operating and maintaining large-scale building systems, and a profound understanding of MEP principles. You will demonstrate exceptional diagnostic and problem-solving skills, meticulous attention to safety, and thrive in a dynamic, hands-on environment dedicated to ensuring uninterrupted facility operations. Work with other trades assigned to perform work in the boiler room, mechanical rooms, and all other areas assigned. Work from written requisitions or verbal instructions. Perform pressure vessel firing operation and other incidental duties. Have constant surveillance of all pressure vessel operations, gauges, valves, and visible, audible controls. Regulate the size of flame and operate boiler controls, adjusting for various loads. Start and operate boilers. This position is represented by SEIU-UHW and is covered by the terms and conditions of the applicable collective bargaining agreement.
