For proof, look no further than our strong working relationships and extraordinary workforce. We are seeking Steam Tracers for maintenance work in Baton Rouge, LA. The Steam Tracer installs, maintains, and repairs tubing systems that use steam to heat industrial pipes, tanks, and valves, ensuring consistent temperature and preventing product freezing or solidification.

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent
  • 3–5 years of experience in industrial maintenance, or tubing installation
  • Proficiency with tubing benders, welding techniques (ASME/AWS standards), and steam trap operations
  • Understanding of thermal insulation, heat transfer principles, and steam thermodynamics
  • Post offer drug / alcohol screen, physical evaluation, and signed acceptance of the Turner Industries Drug, Alcohol and Contraband Policy
  • Comply with company and client job site safety requirements
  • Must not pose a direct threat to the health or safety of others in the workplace

Responsibilities

  • Running steam supply and return tubing alongside process piping, including bending tubing, welding, and installing steam traps to manage condensate
  • Inspecting, testing, and replacing malfunctioning steam traps, leaking tubing, or damaged insulation
  • Covering pipes and tracing with insulation to maximize heat transfer efficiency
  • Diagnosing issues like blocked lines, failed traps, or insufficient heat transfer to avoid process shutdowns
  • Adhering to strict safety protocols, as steam tracing often involves working around high-temperature, high-pressure, or hazardous materials
