About The Position

The Northwest Regional STEM Hub is advancing the mission and vision of the New Mexico STEM Innovation Network (STEMinNM). The STEM coordinator will support the director in this work by creating and sharing high-quality STEM learning experiences across PreK–12 education, out-of-school time programs, higher education, workforce development, and industry partnerships.

Requirements

  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Knowledge of computers and job-related software programs.
  • Knowledge of college policies and procedures.
  • Skill in prioritizing and organizing work.
  • Experience working in and understanding of STEM education trends and best practices in K–12 and postsecondary education.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to represent the organization effectively in public and professional settings.
  • Strong organizational and analytical skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace) and data management tools.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the region and statewide as required.
  • Associates degree in a STEM field, education or a related discipline required.
  • Three years of experience working in STEM or STEM education.
  • Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid driver's license issued by the State of New Mexico for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.

Responsibilities

  • Assists the director in completing project goals and regional initiatives that promote STEM engagement and integrate real-world learning.
  • Creates high-quality STEM outreach experiences that can be shared with educators to be delivered to students throughout the area.
  • Communicates with and coordinates efforts with schools, higher education, tribal, industry, and community organizations.
  • Coordinates with director to deliver high-quality STEM learning experiences for teacher professional development.
  • Travels within the region to deliver learning materials and meet with partners and to the Principal Hub to coordinate statewide STEM efforts as needed.
  • Gather data and prepare reports, presentations, publications, spreadsheets, tables and charts.
  • Other duties as assigned.
