About The Position

Responsible for the sterilization and cleaning of medical equipment, instruments, and supplies. Responsible for cleaning/disinfecting contaminated supplies, delivering sterile supplies, maintaining inventory, and the processing of reusable medical devices for surgeries, examinations, and procedures. Tests and reports any issues or problems with the sterilization equipment. Principal Accountabilities: The successful candidate is responsible for: the cleaning, disinfection, decontamination, inspection, assembly, and sterilization of medical and surgical instruments, case cart assembly and distribution, the care and distribution of patient care equipment, and maintaining the sterile processing areas. Must demonstrate proficiency and teamwork in all areas of the Sterile Processing Department. Follow instructions to ensure quality metrics and standards are met. Able to sit, stand, and walk for prolonged periods of time, as well as push, pull and lift heavy items. Computer literate. Support the mission, vision, and values of the organization. Adheres to Standard Precautions as appropriate, which may include: the use of protective barriers, as appropriate (e.g., gloves, masks, gowns, pocket masks, and/or safety glasses). Performs other related duties as assigned.
