About The Position

The Sterilization Technician supports Riccobene Associates Family Dentistry by ensuring all clinical areas, instruments, and equipment are cleaned, disinfected, sterilized, and prepared according to established safety and infection‑control standards. This role is essential to maintaining a safe, efficient, and patient‑ready environment for all dental procedures.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a Sterilization Technician or in a dental back‑office setting preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize instruments following OSHA, CDC, and practice‑specific protocols.
  • Package, label, and prepare instruments and supplies for autoclave sterilization.
  • Monitor sterilization cycles, maintain logs, and report any equipment concerns.
  • Ensure proper functioning of sterilization equipment and notify leadership of maintenance needs.
  • Clean, disinfect, and reset operatories between patients.
  • Restock operatories with essential supplies (gloves, masks, floss, toothbrushes, toothpaste, etc.).
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of sterilization and supply areas.
  • Assist clinical team members with tray setup and preparation as needed.
  • Assist with limited administrative tasks such as reminder calls or scanning records.
  • Manage laundry, including blankets, lab coats, and other reusable items.
  • Perform moderate janitorial tasks to support overall office cleanliness.
