We're committed to bringing passion and customer focus to the business. 21.00 per hour Job Summary As a representative for our company you will wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and pans using a dishwasher or by hand, and must be able to load and unload the dishwasher. Will maintain kitchen work areas, equipment, and utensils in a clean and orderly condition. You will stock and replace supplies in appropriate locations. Transfer by hand supplies and equipment between storage areas and work areas. Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pick up areas. Job Description Essential Functions Wash dishes, glassware, flatware, pots and/or pans using dishwashers or by hand Sort and place clean dishes, utensils, and cooking equipment in storage areas Sort and remove trash, placing it in designated pickup areas Rotates stock using FIFO guidelines and maintains all storage areas including refrigerators and freezers in a neat, orderly and sanitary manner Prepares and transports goods to food production and service areas as requisitioned and may stock shelves and service refrigerators and freezers as needed Label all items upon delivery and match orders with invoice Keeps all receiving areas, storage areas, including refrigerators and freezers, and carts clean, organized, and sanitary Completes general cleaning duties such as floor care, and minor equipment maintenance as needed Adheres to industry accepted safe food handling guidelines, ensures received and stored goods are safe and secure from loss and maintains a safe work area following generally accepted Workplace safety rules Conducts daily physical inventory of all products Follows safety and sanitation procedures with all guidelines from OSHA, Department of Public Health and Risk Management Knowledge and Skills Detail orientation and self-motivation Interpersonal and organizational skills Previous experience in a high volume full service kitchen (desirable) Excellent verbal and customer service skills Sense of urgency Excellent multitasking skills Ability to move throughout the café and kitchen in a safe manner Knowledge of kitchen and food safety and sanitation Clean professional appearance Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 hours a day Education and Work Experience High School Diploma or GED At least 1 year experience in a dishwashing and/or receiving position required Two (2) years of experience receiving and storing goods; and/or prior experience with PC data entry are preferred. Must have demonstrated basic math skills including food service weights and measures and be able to read and understand receiving lists, packaging labels and vendor invoices. Work Environment The work environment for Steward includes the following large kitchen environment elements and exposures Fast paced kitchen High sense of urgency Moderate to high noise level Some steam from the dishwasher and or sprayers Exposure to soap and cleaning solutions Slippery/uneven surfaces may be encountered Frequently moving from cold freezer to normal kitchen environment Physical Demands Lifting, carrying and possible moving of equipment required . Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 lbs Must be able to stand a minimum of 8 hours a day Heavy and repetitive hand and arm motion involved Standing, walking, bending/twisting, and balance are all required to perform job task Reaching across surfaces while moving containers, reaching above shoulders for containers for removal and storage, reaching above and outward, to use rinse hose, retrieve or replace storage bins on overhead racks, and reaching across the conveyor of washer to place/pick up pots, pans, and utensils Carrying containers of different sizes and different types of product of all shapes and sizes Maintain cleanliness and organization of dry storage/walk-in area, and pick up debris off floor in all areas of the operation , including the following tasks: crouch, bend, reach, twist, lift to complete task Pushing and pulling carts both loaded and unloaded Using step ladder to get items at top shelves includes climbing, and reaching Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision for safe navigation of work area and use of equipment The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
