About The Position

The Waka Sakura Restaurant Stewrd plays a crucial role in maintaining the cleanliness of our kitchen and prep areas. This position is responsible for maintaing a clean kitchen, properly washes and sorts soiled dishes, preps foods as needed. Keeps dish area free of clutter and organized. Sets up dish stations, including dish machines and sinks. Maintains clean / dry floors throughout the shift.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent; hospitality-related kitchen experience preferred; or any equivalent combination of formal training and/or experience which provided the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities thereof.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business data and effectively respond to the data.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, employees, or others involved or associated in the warehouse section function.
  • Ability to work with mathematical concepts relevant to the role such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
  • A valid health certificate or ability to obtain a certification is required for this position.
  • Knowledgeable in use of computer software applications customarily used in the job function at an appropriate proficiency level.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • The employee is regularly required to stand for long periods of time; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • The employee will also lift, push, pull, and/or carry 50 pounds or more.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Nice To Haves

  • hospitality-related kitchen experience preferred
  • General knowledge of basic accounting a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Assures all dish are maintained, inventoried and always kept clean.
  • Keep up with dish demand of daily operations
  • Directly reports to supervisor for chemical and what is needed for daily operations.
  • Maintain cleanliness / dry floors of kitchen at all times.
  • Changes water of machines and sinks every two hours, or more often as required by business levels and properly uses chemical dilutions set by chemical company.
  • Assists in the timely storing food deliveries.
  • Maintains trash cans throughout shift and removes full trashcans and boxes at the end of each shift.
  • Maintains the dry storage area and the organization of storage shelves.
  • Assists in food prep and any other duties set forth or requested by the chef as needed
