About The Position

The Straightener Operator shall operate and assist in the functions of straightening material in accordance with plant policies and procedures. He/she will ensure a safe and compliant operation during his/her shift.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED preferred but not required.
1 years’ experience as an Operator.
At least Knowledge and experience within the OCTG pipe inspection industry is preferable.
Basic reading, writing, and arithmetic skills required.
Manual dexterity required for operating machinery, hand tools and handheld technical devices.
Ability to lift to 30 pounds required.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Employees must be able to work with a flexible schedule which may require over-time.
Understands all applicable location safety rules and regulations and makes sure that all are being followed.
Ability to see 20-20 when corrected.
Ability to identify and distinguish colors.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of the manufacturing processes, procedures, and Straightener operation is a plus.

Responsibilities

Operator will be responsible for proper set up straightener and insure maximum roll coverage.
Responsible for straightening and oval shape of tube material in conformance to the required specification.
Operator will check straighten pipe frequently for marks and overall condition.
Check that all machinery is properly serviced before starting up and during shifts.
Assists in repair and replacement of equipment during maintenance shutdowns.
Communicate with crew to achieve a quality product.
Assist in changeovers and Mill stops.
The employee is responsible for assisting with documentation and/or technical devices for recording production and findings.
Communicating with Supervisor about any problems with material and equipment.
Employees must clock in and out during shifts. Any misrepresentation of time by the employee or co-worker for such employee shall be grounds for termination.
Safety is our number one priority. Employees must follow all PPE policies and safety rules.
Employee must report to his immediate supervisor for briefing on daily tasks.
Provide and assist with good maintenance on the equipment he is operating.
Employees must maintain good housekeeping ethics. Work areas must be free and clear of debris.
