About the Role: The Senior Strategic Sales Engineer – MDU serves as the senior technical authority and strategic partner to our Multifamily (MDU) sales organization, driving the technical vision, solution strategy, and design standards that enable scalable growth across the multifamily portfolio. Operating at the intersection of technology, market strategy, and business development, this role builds and strengthens relationships with property owners, developers, architects, and internal executive stakeholders to shape future-ready fiber solutions tailored to the evolving needs of multifamily communities. As a senior-level technical leader, the Strategic Sales Engineer navigates the full sales lifecycle—from complex pre-sales discovery and solution architecture to cross-functional enablement and post-sale transition—ensuring a frictionless customer experience and consistent delivery excellence. This role not only supports major and strategic opportunities but also drives continuous improvement of our MDU program through standards development, market insights, and technical innovation. By providing enterprise-level technical guidance, influencing long-term product and network strategy, and enabling field teams with repeatable and scalable best practices, this individual plays a pivotal role in expanding our MDU footprint, accelerating growth, and positioning our solutions competitively within the multifamily ecosystem.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in telecom, broadband, fiber networks, or related engineering/sales engineering roles.
  • Advanced expertise in fiber-optic networking, Ethernet transport, Wi-Fi infrastructure, and end-to-end broadband architecture, with the ability to design, evaluate, and optimize complex deployment strategies.
  • Deep experience in the MDU market, including strategic engagement with developers, property owners, and construction partners to influence technology standards and long-term connectivity planning.
  • Proven experience in Fiber-to-the-Unit and in-building network deployments, including the ability to guide cross-functional teams through design, implementation, and operational handoff at scale.
  • Prior experience supporting a sales organization or working in a customer facing technical role.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings, riser diagrams, and building layouts.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical solutions simply and effectively.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capability, with a track record of managing multiple high-impact projects simultaneously while navigating tight timelines, and evolving customer requirements.
  • Be willing and able to travel within an assigned territorial geography up to 25% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Shape the technical strategy for the MDU segment by analyzing market trends, competitive offerings, and emerging technologies to influence long-term solution architecture and product direction.
  • Develop scalable technical frameworks and design standards that streamline solution development across all MDU opportunities and ensure consistency, quality, and repeatability.
  • Partner with senior leaders in Business Development, key property ownership groups, developers, and large MDU operators to define strategic solution roadmaps and guide customers through complex technical decision-making.
  • Lead high-impact technical presentations, executive briefings, and strategic RFP engagements, representing the technical vision for major deals and multi-property portfolios.
  • Oversee complex, portfolio-wide technical evaluations for large or strategic MDU developments, guiding teams in assessing ISP/OSP architectures and future-proofing designs.
  • Serve as the senior technical liaison across Construction, Network Engineering, Field Operations, Project Management, and Product, ensuring alignment of network design, deployment strategy, and customer commitments.
  • Drive solution optimization by balancing cost, feasibility, scalability, and customer experience across diverse property types and long-term development plans.
  • Support commercial negotiations at an executive level by defining technical requirements, risk considerations, and solution alternatives that enable optimal deal structuring and margin outcomes.
  • Provide strategic input during contract discussions, ensuring technical commitments are feasible, scalable, and aligned with network and business strategy.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of evolving broadband, fiber access, and property technology ecosystems, positioning the company as a leader in MDU-focused network design and deployment.
  • Participate in industry forums, vendor partnerships, and standards discussions to help shape the future direction of MDU broadband solutions.
