About The Position

Lead the technology and cybersecurity strategy that helps power Vermont Electric Cooperative's mission of delivering safe, affordable, and reliable energy to the members and communities we serve. As a member of the Senior Leadership Team, you will guide the cooperative's cybersecurity and information technology strategy to ensure systems supporting critical energy infrastructure remain secure, resilient, and aligned with organizational priorities. This role combines strategic vision with hands-on leadership - strengthening cyber defenses, supporting high-performing IT operations, and partnering across the organization to implement technology solutions that improve efficiency, security, and service. You will lead key initiatives from concept to implementation while fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement. What You'll Do Lead VEC's cybersecurity strategy and governance, protecting systems, data, and critical infrastructure while strengthening incident preparedness and response capabilities. Partner with the IT Manager and team to ensure reliable, secure, and well-supported technology systems that enable employees across the organization to do their best work. Drive strategic technology and cybersecurity initiatives from planning through implementation, using disciplined project management and clear priorities to deliver results. Collaborate across departments to identify and implement technology improvements that enhance operational efficiency, cybersecurity posture, and service to members. Develop and support high-performing teams by coaching leaders, strengthening collaboration, and building accountability across technology initiatives. Advance VEC's data and technology capabilities, supporting trusted information, improved decision-making, and long-term business strategy. What You Bring Experience leading cybersecurity strategy, governance, and incident preparedness in a complex technology environment. Demonstrated success leading enterprise technology or cybersecurity initiatives from strategy through implementation. Strong leadership experience developing teams, coaching managers, and fostering a collaborative culture. Ability to balance strategic leadership with hands-on execution, translating technology vision into practical results. Experience guiding organizational change and technology adoption through collaboration and effective communication. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to engage technical teams, senior leaders, and board-level audiences.
