About The Position

The Retail Designer is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and executing visual merchandising displays, store layouts, and promotional materials that align with the brand’s identity. The role involves collaborating with various teams to create an engaging and cohesive customer experience within the retail space. The Customer Experience Office is seeking a student employee for the role of Customer Experience Associate. The ideal candidate will possess exceptional design thinking and visual communication skills, with the ability to effectively take ideas into concrete form. Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor's and/or minor degree in a relevant field (e.g. Graphic Design Major or Minor, Visual Arts, Business Marketing, etc.).
  • Portfolio of design work including any of the following: print design, digital design, apparel design, etc.
  • Excellent in design software such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign) with a strong understanding of branding, visual storytelling, and customer experience.
  • A bias for action, i.e., being able to decide, communicate, and act in the fog of complex decision-making options.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Detail-oriented, quick thinker, and capable of handling and interpreting complex data.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities.
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for enhancing the customer experience on campus.
  • 3 Months of Directly Relevant Experience
  • Typical office work environment

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement creative visual merchandising strategies to showcase products effectively.
  • Design and set up window displays, in-store signage, and promotional materials.
  • Ensure all displays are visually appealing and consistent with the brand’s image.
  • Work with project team to ensure product specifications address the customer business requirements.
  • Create and maintain store layouts that optimize customer flow and enhance the shopping experience.
  • Collaborate with store managers and marketing teams to design seasonal or special event layouts.
