The Benefits: Our team offers competitive compensation packages, a full range of benefits, continuing education, and excellent work-life balance to ensure your success Description: Support Injury Mitigation and Rehabilitation activities: Complement Athletic Trainer capabilities and increase the capacity of the SMIP Athletic Training Room to support initial screening, primary prevention, and “return to play” functions. Serve as the primary linkage between SMIP Athletic Trainers and unit Force Fitness Instructors. Assist in the rehabilitation of injured Marines in conjunction with unit FFIs and Athletic Trainers through evidence-based strength and conditioning programing under the guidance of the Command. Coordinate individualized exercise programs to ensure a safe and expeditious return to training of personnel recovering from injury. Participate in multi-disciplinary team meetings to review and evaluate physical training programs/injury prevention, and reconditioning treatment programs. Refer all personnel with an apparent new or undiagnosed medical condition to a licensed medical provider for evaluation and treatment. Performance Assessments and Program Design: Conduct specialized assessments based on unit Mission Essential Tasks (METs) in support of unit Commanders and Force Fitness Instructors. Conduct gathering, assessment, and display of data through the use of sensor technology and software systems to provide Commanders, FFIs, individual Marines, and Athletic Trainers with usable information. In conjunction with Athletic Trainers, prepare updates as requested on the physical readiness of supported Marines. Design, administer, and evaluate the effects of unit and individual physical training protocols under the operational cognizance of unit staff utilizing traditional strength and conditioning facilities/equipment and in potentially austere settings. Assist in the design of evidence-based physical training plans that optimizes performance and mitigates injuries in collaboration with supported commanders and Force Fitness Instructors. Participate in regular meetings to remain cognizant of the unit training schedules. Remain aware of service and unit policies/directives/orders that pertain to physical standards, training, and injury treatment. As directed by the Commanding Officer or designated government representative, provide instruction and guidance on subjects related to applied anatomy, exercise physiology, kinesiology and biomechanics, physical conditioning, injury prevention and recognition, stretching, and posture and body mechanics. Documentation and Administration: Oversee use of assigned equipment in accordance with published policy while ensuring the safe and effective operation of assigned exercise, rehabilitation, and sensor equipment. Assist with inventory and maintenance of supplies and equipment and assist in the preparation of the budget and supply requisitions, which may include the replenishment of exhausted supplies, preventative maintenance and the recommendation of new rehabilitation equipment to the Commanding Officer or designated government representative for purchase consideration. Prepare information collected for use by Commanders, Marines, Athletic Trainers and healthcare providers and support service level data collection and research efforts as required. Support the development and/or revision of local SMIP Program and Force Fitness Instructor Program Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Attend required training in accordance with command/supported command guidance and participate in periodic professional development training.
