The Role We have an opportunity for a Structural Associate with interests in structural forensic investigation, litigation support, structural repair, and demolition engineering. This candidate will be expected to manage and execute structural investigations of existing structures and design remedial repairs for deficient conditions. The investigations include failure cause and origin analysis, repair feasibility analysis, insurance claim evaluation, litigation support, and emergency response. This candidate will also be expected to execute complex demolition engineering projects. The candidate will provide direction to, and review the work product of, junior-level staff, coordinate with other project managers on interdisciplinary efforts, support marketing efforts, and develop and maintain client relationships.

Requirements

  • Degree (Master’s preferred) in structural engineering or a related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) License required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally.

Nice To Haves

  • Field experience with various types of structures is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Manage forensic investigation projects.
  • Oversee and review structural analysis and repair design of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.
  • Oversee and review demolition analysis and planning.
  • Organize site visits to support forensic investigations and review site visit findings.
  • Communicate with clients to understand project requirements.
  • Prepare and review technical and investigative reports to support forensic findings and prepare materials related to presentations.
  • Manage and mentor junior-level team members.
  • Actively supports business development efforts through proposal writing, client outreach, and relationship building.
