These projects involve dam reconstruction, structural upgrades, heavy steel and reinforced concrete work, and water‑in‑work construction requiring staged installations. You will be collaborative, working with construction management teams, EPC partners, and engineering firms. You will safely implement engineering intent in the field, playing a critical role as the on‑site technical interface.

Requirements

  • A structural engineer with 5–7 years of experience in construction, utility, civil infrastructure, or hydro-related projects.
  • Comfortable juggling both office engineering and site‑based field support.
  • Collaborate across engineering, construction, PM, and regulatory partners.
  • Bachelor's degree from an ABET‑accredited engineering program (Structural/Civil preferred).
  • Background in structural engineering including reinforced concrete and steel.
  • Review native CAD files (MicroStation experience ideal).
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for regular travel.

Responsibilities

  • Support dam reconstruction and upgrades across multiple hydroelectric sites in Western Wisconsin.
  • Provide daily/weekly structural engineering guidance on‑site and in the office.
  • Perform constructability reviews of drawings at major milestones.
  • Oversee quality observations, troubleshoot field issues, and ensure adherence to engineering standards.
  • Help with scheduling, logistics planning, estimate reviews, and early-stage project planning.
  • Conduct weekly or bi‑weekly site visits (including occasional overnight stays).
  • Communicate with field teams, addressing safety, quality, and schedule risks in real time.
  • Prepare daily and weekly reporting, including on-site activity summaries and engineering support notes.
  • Support coordination with FERC regulatory requirements.
  • Review and contribute to inspection/test plans, non‑conformance items, and field engineering corrections.
