About The Position

Are you the welder who can turn prints into precise grating? If you thrive in a production environment, work safely with cranes and power tools, and hold yourself to high standards for quality and output, this role puts your skills to work right away. What you'll tackle Interpret basic drawings and complete straightforward fabrications: straight and band cuts, applying nosing and toe plates, and installing anchor blocks — or set up and weld all configurations of heavy-duty hand-welded grating. Hit defined quality and productivity goals without sacrificing safety. Lay out, assemble, and weld grating per material specs, spacing requirements, job travelers, and drawings. Operate with minimal supervision in a self-directed workflow. Use overhead and jib cranes to position and move grating safely. Run power equipment: band, cold, and table saws; grinders; presses; cutting torches; routers; and welding machines. Complete all paperwork and time entries accurately to support inventory control. Perform routine maintenance; flag equipment issues and needed repairs. Assist other areas by troubleshooting welding and fabrication challenges. Flex between production lines as priorities shift. Communicate clearly and collaborate with teammates. Keep shared and personal workspaces organized and clean. Cross-train and take on additional duties as assigned.

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • MIG and Stick welding experience; oxy/fuel and plasma torch experience on carbon steel, stainless steel, and/or aluminum.
  • Knowledge of AWS D1.1, D1.5, and/or D1.2; certification out of position.
  • Comfortable using a wide range of hand/power tools and operating overhead cranes safely.
  • Read and interpret blueprints; read metric and standard tape measures.

  • Strong teammate with effective communication.
