The Role We have an opportunity for a Forensic Structural Engineer with interests in structural forensic investigation, litigation support, structural repair, and demolition engineering. This candidate will be expected to execute structural investigations of existing structures and design remedial repairs for deficient conditions. The investigations include failure cause and origin analysis, repair feasibility analysis, insurance claim evaluation, litigation support, and emergency response. This candidate will also be expected to execute complex demolition engineering projects. The candidate will be required to provide direction to, and review the work product of, junior-level staff, coordinate with other project managers on interdisciplinary efforts, support marketing efforts, and develop and maintain client relationships.

Requirements

  • Degree (Master’s preferred) in structural engineering or related field.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) and/or Structural Engineer (SE) license preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to travel within the US and internationally

Responsibilities

  • Perform and review structural analysis and repair design of concrete, steel, timber, masonry, and other structural systems.
  • Perform and review demolition analysis and planning.
  • Perform site visits to support forensic investigations, including surveying and documenting observations, photographing, and sketching.
  • Research historical background of diverse structures, technical issues, and code issues.
  • Prepare technical and investigative reports and presentation materials.
