About The Position

Structural Technical Designer (Senior or Expert) Company: The Boeing Company Boeing Commercial Airplanes is seeking experienced Structural Technical Designers (Senior or Expert) to support the Fabrication Organization in Auburn, WA. The Technical Designer will create CATIA V5 3D Solid Models for use in manufacturing Aluminum & Titanium aircraft components on multi-axis high speed machines, to support Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) programs. Our team is currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including Senior (Level 4) and Expert (Level 5) Technical Designers. Primary Responsibilities: Supply Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models to the machine shop for emergent manufacturing. Review engineering for fabrication needs and modify as required. Create new 3D CAD Models in CATIA from 2D Drawings. Modify existing 3D models to satisfy engineering requirements on Non-Conformance Records. Study drawings, Boeing Aircraft Specs (BACs), Planning Instructions, etc. to create 3D models meeting all engineering dimensional requirements. Works under general direction.

Requirements

  • Associate degree with 6+ years of related work experience OR Bachelors degree with with 4+ years of related work experience OR 8+ years of related work experience.
  • Minimum 4 years of practical work experience related to: interpreting and working with engineering drawings, CAD Models, and general manufacturing knowledge.
  • At least 4 years of experience using CATIA.
  • Ability to coordinate closely with multi-disciplinary skills in engineering, quality, and manufacturing.
  • Willing to have a flexible work schedule and ability to work overtime to meet critical production requirements

Nice To Haves

  • Associate degree with 9+ years of related work experience OR Bachelors degree with with 7+ years of related work experience OR 11+ years of related work experience.
  • 7 years of practical work experience related to: interpreting and working with engineering drawings, CAD Models, and general manufacturing knowledge.
  • 7 years of experience using CATIA.

Responsibilities
