About The Position

The Structured Cabling Deployment Manager oversees the planning, coordination, and quality assurance of low voltage installation projects across multiple commercial sites. This role translates client requirements into clear technical scopes, ensures permitting and code compliance, manages vendors and field teams, and serves as the primary technical escalation point to keep projects on schedule and aligned with standards.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 10 years of hands-on experience in the Low Voltage industry (structured cabling, security, AV, etc.).
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience specifically in job site management, project estimation/quoting, and technical scoping.
  • Proven track record of managing projects across multiple commercial spaces (retail, office, warehousing, etc.) simultaneously. Travel required.
  • Advanced ability to read and markup construction drawings and blueprints.
  • Strong understanding of the permit application and approval process across different states and municipalities within the US.
  • Deep understanding of Cat5e/6/6a cabling, fiber optics, rack buildouts, and associated infrastructure.
  • An understanding of CCTV installs requirements and permitting
  • Strong negotiation skills for vendor pricing and scope management.
  • Excellent written communication for creating clear, ambiguity-free Scopes of Work.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage timelines across different time zones.

Responsibilities

  • Create Detailed Scopes of Work (SOW): Translate client requirements into comprehensive SOWs for field technicians and vendors, ensuring every aspect of the install is clearly defined.
  • Blueprint & Schematic Analysis: Expertly read and interpret architectural blueprints, floor plans, and reflected ceiling plans to identify pathway, power, and data requirements.
  • Quoting & Estimation: Develop accurate material and labor estimates for large-scale commercial projects, ensuring profitability and budget adherence.
  • National Permitting Management: Navigate and manage the permitting process across various US jurisdictions. Research and adhere to local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ) requirements.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure all deployments comply with the National Electrical Code (NEC) and local low voltage regulations.
  • Inspection Coordination: Oversee the scheduling of necessary inspections and ensure all job sites pass final reviews.
  • Vendor Oversight: Source, vet, and managing third-party vendors and cabling subcontractors to ensure they meet company quality and safety standards.
  • Job Site Management: Act as the primary technical point of contact for issues escalating from the field. Provide remote or on-site guidance to resolve installation blockers.
  • Quality Assurance: Work with PMO counterparts to review closeout packages, including photos and test results (e.g., Fluke reports), to verify that installations match the SOW and blueprints.
