About The Position

MHI RJ Aviation Group (MHIRJ) is the merging of two important heritages: Mitsubishi Heavy Industries (MHI) and the CRJ Series program. We provide comprehensive critical operational, engineering and customer support solutions including maintenance, refurbishment, technical publications, marketing and sales activities for the global regional aircraft industry. We’re hiring Structures Technicians to help drive our continued success! MHIRJ’s network of service centers, support offices and parts depots are positioned in important aviation hubs in the U.S. The Structures Technician performs thorough inspections of aircraft structures, identifying and documenting any signs of damage or wear while complying with environmental health, safety policies, and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 1 year of structural sheet metal repair and modification experience or sustained similar experience.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • Knowledge of aircraft structures and materials.
  • Able to interpret and work with mechanical engineering drawings.
  • Possess (basic) set of tools.
  • Ability to effectively communicate aircraft maintenance actions both verbally and in writing.
  • Comfortable working with technology / entering aircraft maintenance actions into a computer-based system.
  • Ability to obtain a Security Identification Display Area badge (SIDA) if applicable.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of experience.
  • FAA-issued Airframe or Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) license.
  • Corporate jet aircraft or commercial aircraft experience.
  • MRO experience, CRJ airframe experience and/or Military aircraft maintenance experience (Depot/Isochronal/Phase inspections).
  • Completed Sheetmetal A/C Tech school or equivalent schooling.

Responsibilities

  • Execute sheet metal repairs and modifications on various structural components, including but not limited to the wing, fuselage, and tail sections.
  • Fabricate and/or modify structural modifications on aircraft parts.
  • Perform minor structural repairs on composite components either attached or detached.
  • Perform mechanical, electrical removals, and installations as required.
  • Interpret and follow aircraft maintenance manuals, blueprints, and technical specifications.
  • Assist with complex structural repairs on/off aircraft.
  • Utilize precision measuring tools and equipment to ensure accurate repairs and compliance with aviation regulations.
  • Inspect confined areas of airframe.
  • Stay current on industry trends, technological advancements, and regulatory changes related to aviation structural maintenance.
