As the Student Financial Services Manager , you’ll lead a high-impact team that helps students and families confidently navigate tuition planning, financial aid, and funding options — removing barriers so students can focus on success. This role blends student advocacy, compliance expertise, and team leadership , and plays a critical role in student retention and outcomes.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (required)
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in Student Financial Services
  • Strong knowledge of federal, state, institutional, and VA aid programs
  • Excellent communication skills and a student-first mindset
  • Ability to balance compliance, compassion, and operational excellence

Nice To Haves

  • Supervisory or leadership experience strongly preferred

Responsibilities

  • Administers and supervises the implementation of all institutional Student Financial Services policies, procedures and funding programs as they pertain to awarding and collections.
  • Ensures that adequate documentation and accountability exist for all funds disbursed and that strict compliance with regulations results in avoidance of institutional fiscal liability.
  • Advises students and families regarding tuition planning matters.
  • Ensure that student aid recipients maintain eligibility for all aid disbursed and that appropriate records are maintained for all students receiving Federal Student Aid.
  • Plans, organizes and supervises the operational functions of the Student Financial Services Office including providing updates and training to campus SFS staff.
  • Oversees Campus VA School Certifying Officials and VA Education benefit activities.
  • Serves as a liaison between other departments.
  • Serves on institutional committees or groups as required or assigned; including, but not limited to Stitch, Start and LDA meetings.
  • Interviewing, hiring, and assist in training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
  • Conducts mandatory Exit Counseling seminars monthly.
  • Mandatory attendance at semi-annual graduation.
