About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Systems Administrator SIS and Team Lead to oversee the administration of our core campus technology platforms while leading a team of front-line support specialists. This role is responsible for both the hands-on management of key systems and the day-to-day leadership of a support team that serves as the primary point of contact for faculty, staff, and students across multiple campus platforms. Our core systems include, but are not limited to, our Student Information System (currently Blackbaud), athlete management platforms (Teamworks), campus management systems (Reach), and document management solutions (School Docs). The ideal candidate brings a strong technical foundation in K-12 school systems, a service-oriented mindset, and leadership skills to build and maintain a high-performing support team. Experience in a boarding school environment is a plus, as familiarity with the operational complexity of a 24/7 campus is particularly valuable in this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Education Technology, Business Administration, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 3+ years of experience administering a Student Information System (SIS) or Student Management System (SMS) . Experience with Blackbaud is strongly preferred.
  • Experience supporting or administering other campus platforms (e.g., athlete management, residential/campus management, document management) is a strong plus.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience, including supervising, mentoring, or leading a team in a technology support or systems administration context.
  • Prior experience working in a K-12 educational environment with a student population of 1,000 or more is required.
  • Strong understanding of data management, reporting, and analytics.
  • Familiarity with system integrations across school software ecosystems (e.g., financial systems, HR, LMS, etc.).
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a boarding or residential school setting is preferred, given the operational demands of a 24/7 campus environment.
  • Blackbaud certification or training is highly desirable; equivalent certifications from other SIS/SMS vendors will be considered.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of systems support specialists responsible for front-line support across campus platforms.
  • Manage ticket queues, workload distribution, and escalation paths to ensure timely and effective issue resolution.
  • Set team priorities, establish support standards, and foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellent service.
  • Conduct regular one-on-ones, performance check-ins, and professional development conversations with team members.
  • Serve as an escalation point for complex or high-priority issues that exceed front-line support capacity.
  • Serve as the primary administrator for the Student Information System (currently Blackbaud), with ownership over configuration, data integrity, and system optimization.
  • Oversee administration and support coverage for additional campus platforms including athlete management (Teamworks), campus/residential management (Reach), document management (School Docs), and other integrated systems.
  • Develop and maintain workflows, reports, and dashboards to support operational efficiency across departments.
  • Ensure the integrity, security, and accuracy of student, faculty, and administrative data across all managed platforms.
  • Assist in data migrations, system integrations, and third-party software connections.
  • Coordinate with vendors for issue resolution, updates, and roadmap planning.
  • Stay current on platform updates, new features, and best practices across all supported systems.
  • Maintain thorough documentation on system configurations, processes, and training materials.
  • Partner with academic, residential, athletic, and administrative departments to understand needs and optimize system functionality.
  • Develop and deliver training programs for faculty, staff, and other end users.
  • Collaborate with IT leadership on strategic planning, system evaluations, and technology initiatives.
